Tender estimating in Ballarat

Tendr prices commercial landscape tenders for Ballarat subcontractors: the measured takeoff, the bill of quantities priced to your own rates, and the submission package. Fixed fee per tender, quoted up front once we have seen the drawings, with the turnaround date confirmed alongside it.

What we price

Five services, all priced per tender and all against your own rates: quantity takeoff, priced bill of quantities, tender submission, scope and contract review and variation pricing. Take one or take the lot. If you only want the measured quantities and intend to price them yourself, that is a common request and the fee drops accordingly. The services pages set out what each one covers and how the fixed fee works.

What is different about pricing a Ballarat package

State and regional work runs through Buying for Victoria, and the steady commercial pipeline in the Central Highlands is education, health and civic. Those packages tend to be drawing-heavy relative to their value, which is exactly the case where an outsourced takeoff is worth more than it costs.

Ballarat's winters are the constraint that does not show up on a Melbourne drawing set. Frost narrows the planting and turf establishment window and it affects what can be poured and when. A landscape program handed over in the wrong month carries an establishment risk that belongs in the price or in the clarifications, not in the hope that it will be a mild year.

The goldfields ground is variable and often disturbed, so what is under the surface is less predictable than the drawings suggest. Where the geotechnical information does not cover the landscape footprint, the excavation and subgrade lines get qualified rather than assumed.

Frequently asked questions

Does the frost season change how you price?

It changes what has to be qualified rather than what we charge. Establishment, turf and planting lines get priced against the handover date in the program, and where that date sits in the wrong season we say so in the clarifications.

Can you price a package that is mostly civil?

Landscaping is the core trade, and we also price civil, concreting and demolition packages. If your trade is not listed, ask. If we cannot measure it properly, we will say so rather than guess.

Is a regional package usually smaller than a metro one?

Not in drawing count. Central Highlands education and health projects are often drawing-heavy relative to their contract value, which is the case where handing the takeoff out is worth the most.
